October 2020 / My hapiness holds in 1 km2
That’s what a homeowner once told me, that our daily trips and activities should be limited to 15 minutes from home. This distance would be the diameter of our happiness. As we know, this intimate knowledge of a neighborhood favors rootedness, it generates a virtuous local loop.
I would add to this circle the presence of a garden, a park, an essential counterpoint to the minerality of the city. A garden at the end of its street is a true luxury, the chance to breathe and reconnect with a miniature Nature. From Luxembourg to the Tuileries, from the Parc des Buttes Chaumont to the Parc Montsouris, the magic always operates according to the singularity of the place.
Baudelaire’s stroller can live again in us:
“For the perfect flâneur, for the passionate observer, it is an immense pleasure to take up residence in the number, in the undulating, in the movement, in the fugitive and the infinite”.
Hugues de La Morandière
LAURENCE SIMONCINI, THE TIME OF A SEASON AT THE VARENNE AGENCY
7 place Saint-Sulpice, 75006 Paris / @laurence_simoncini_decor
Laurence Simoncini marries raw materials, audacity and mineral colors to orchestrate unique places, free from the dictates of trends and making full room for emotion.
It convokes poetry, intimacy and singularity to offer more than an imprint: a universe. Admirers of those/what she makes emerge, we invited her universe to take residence in our agency Saint-Sulpice.
